Carbs, try to keep them to30% of your daily intake.
40 protein, 30 carbs, 30 fat.

I TRY to stay away from whites, breads, pastas, crackers etc. but variety is essential for the long term so occasionally I'll induldge. Who am I kidding, If i can have bread once a week, i'm gonna have it. But it's usually Weigh****chers because I can have 1/2 the calories and carbs in one slice as opposed to normal bread.

But, I enjoy fresh fruits and vegis as well. Protein always first.

I do go on carb purges when I've been particularly bad over the weekend. A couple days of very few carbs 10% usually does the trick and gets me back on track.

But again, i don't wants to deprive myself if i really want something because that just starts a binge for me. So moderation is the key.

huge range of opinions on carbs, Dawn.

According to most people's thinking, your diet should consist of 40 % protein, 30% each of fat and carbs.

Moderation. Non processed, whole grains rather than white refined, whole fruits and veggies rather than canned or sauced or whatever.
