It's not too serious but some of my incisions are not healing and may be infected. I called telehealth and was advised to go to emerg. Lets hope they can just clean the incisions and patch me up. It sucks cuz the wait time there is usually 7-12hrs!! Grr. lol Just wanted to vent.

Awww no!! That totally sucks. I'm sure they will clean you up, good as new though. At least there are usually interesting people to watch in the ER!

well, that's a relatively minor problem, but frustrating nonetheless!

let us know how it goes.

Seriously? Emerg? Did you have a high fever?

I hate calling telehealth. Standard answer regardless of condition is "see a Dr within 4 hours". Are they unaware if the wait times in emerg? Not gonna happen unless I was calling from the waiting room.

I'd have to be pretty delirious from pain and fever to go to emerg instead of waiting until today and calling my dr.

Hope you feel better.

4% of telehealth nurses' calls must default to "go to the ER", I used to in trouble with them all the time, being an ex-ER nurse the patietn had to be dead and/or dying before I would default to "Go to the ER"

When I worked in The ER and the panic stricken patients streamed through the door with "TeleHealth was sending you a FAX, I have to see a doctor within 4 H. . .. "  only to find out they have had a cough for 3 days and haven't taken anything for it. . ..

I agree with Erica. . .unless delirious with pain or fever I would wait and talk to my Doctor in the morning rather than expose my freshly post-op self to the wait and disease exposure of the ER waiting room, especially on a Sunday night.

Hope all turned out well and that the wait was not too long

Yup.  God forbid the government give us teachers access to more than 6 sick days a year (when we spend our life surrounded by snotty nosed children who pick and don't wash their hands).  But lets keep spending millions on telehealth.

Common sense government.
