I read the OH Memorials

And. I have decided not to have WLS! I have enjoyed reading all your success stories, but after reading the memorials and giving this some deep thought. I just don't feel that it is the right thing for me to do at this time. I am just recovering from a minor procedure that has had me out of the game of life for 3 months, that included multiple ER visits, antibiotics, specialists and daily homecare. I am just going to continue to work at my WL without surgery. Icant put myself or hubby through all that again! I may never get down to 140, but I'll set my next goal for 240! I wish you all well on your journeys and I wish you health and happiness. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Hi Deb

I think this is a smart decision....especially given your recent past

WLS is a serious operation....and requires a strong commitment for the rest of your life....so you need to go into it with full confidence and surety

Good luck with the weight loss....and if you ever change your mind...the surgery will be there for you

All the best

Hi Deb,

I just visited the OH memorial page after reading your post.  What I found interesting is that either people are unaware of the page or not that many people are dying.

Good luck in your weight loss.  You can still post here even if you decide to focus on non-surgical methods.

Good luck to you! WLS is not for everyone and it's all about making the best choice for YOU. It may be an option for you down the road, it may not, but it's always your choice.

Deb - feels great to finally make a decision doesn't it?  Indecision is much harder.  Good news about your decision is that you are not burning any bridges.  If you decide to go this route in the future - it will still be here and so will we.

Best of luck in your choice - please keep stopping in to say hi and let us know how it is going.
