Hi Carol

My surgery was 4 hours....but I have had 5 abdominal surgeries so we knew it would be a little longer.....

For those who worry re their starting BMI - I was SMO with a bmi in the mid 50's....severe sleep apnea etc.....and also older then most....

I came thru with flying colors....followed the program to the letter....no sugar/white carbs/booze etc for the first 9 months to a year....and I lost steadily.....and am now very healthy

Good luck next week Carol

It really depends on the person ... I went in for surgery @ 10 am and didnt make it back to my room until 6 pm.  I had a hard time coming out of anesthesia.

Ideally 4 hours or so from begining to end :)

Good luck with everything !!!!

They booked the operation for 3 hours but it was done in under 2.  The previous operation finished early so they took me early too, what a surprise for my husband and I.

I was told yesterday by Dr. Pereira-Hong, and Dr. Kim that the surgery was about 2 hours if everything goes well.

Thank you everyone. I will plan on being back to my room later in the evening then. My mom is in her 80's and I know she will be worried until I call her. I will let her know it will be later that she will hear from me.

That's a good idea. I'm sorry that your daughter isn't understanding your reasons to have the surgery. She will see the benefits later when she has you here longer :)

Well, truth be known Kelly, I'm sure she would like her inheritance, as meger as it is, sooner than later. I'm just hoping she doesn't let me down at the last minute and not pick me up for surgery. I have inquired about the cost of a cab, about $50 if necessary.
Off to a Jays game today with my Optifast in a water bottle. Hope they don't stop me at security!
Have a great weekend!
