Thank you all!!!
Recovery is a ***** especially since I seem to have gotten my mothers adverse reaction to anesthesia.... Already gave my pouch a workout by constantly vomiting nothing.
The most unfortunate part was that due to a mistaken apnea note and faulty blood pressure cuff they left me 4 hours at recovery and my family was going crazy...
But that is all behind me now... New life here I come!
oh man...sorry your feeling sick.. im sure you have asked already but perhaps you can get gravol in your drip.... Glad all went well.

Welcome to the bench! You know the drill sip and walk. Just be sure to let yourelf recover from this major surgery and don't push too hard. Before you know it, all this will seem like a dream that fades in the distance haze of time. Here's to the next chapter.
Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be.

I have the same reaction. I was hoping that having a new pouch, with nothing in it, would somehow make a difference. Not so much. I will be having panni surgery in the next month or so, and I don't look forward to trying to throw up, especially being cut around the muscles you use to get sick!!
My surgery was an hour longer, and I had a high fever. I went in for surgery at 9, and was in my hospital bed at 4...my family was not happy either!! But, like you said, it's all over and life begins!
Glad you're well!

Look at you, focusing on the positive!
I too had the dry heaves when I woke up and that was with anti-nausea meds before going in and iv Zofran during and after. The Recovery Room Nurse put an alchohol swab over my nose as I was heaving, making me breathe in alcohol fumes and the nausea passed as I fell back asleep. The 3rd time I woke up, it was over. No more nausea.
Welcome to your new life. You seem eager to embrace the challenges. Good for you.
