I have heard from a few people that cucumber is allowed while on OPTIFAST.  Is this true?

TWH says NO.  No veggie at all.  :(

Not sure about other programs.

I'm allowed cucumber, celery, lettuce, peppers and broccoli...

I was thinking about using some broth and trying out a broccoli soup.  I find the cucumber make me feel gassy and crampy.  Possibly because I'm pretty empty.

I only have 13 days left with the OPTIFAST!  I'm getting excited

Good Luck

I'm going through HRRH if that helps...

I did HRRH.  You can call them and check.  I think they allow up to 2 cups a day of certain vegetables, including cucumber without skin.

I just picked up my opti fast today along with the information sheet for HRRH and yes you are allowed cucumber, in fact green veggies in general seem to be ok. up to 2 cups a day.

Try sauteeing the veggies in broth with garlic etc.. I used to really look forward to that one cup  at dinner time.

HRRH and St. Joe's Toronto are the only 2 hospitals that allow it.  Since you are with TWH, you wouldn't be allowed any.

How come one hospital allow's it and the other doesn't?  Shouldn't they be consistent?

It would be nice if things were more consistent, but they are not.  I am in Ottawa and no veggies either.
