I was lucky that I did not have chronic joint pain. The dr said I might have arthritis in my one knee, but loosing the weight has made a big difference. I used to work at 12 hour shift at the hospital and come home aching all over. Now I might have a dull ache in that knee, but getting to sit down and rest it and it's fine the next day for a 10k run.

A year ago I couldn't run a lap on the track without getting winded. Now I can do 10km. It is amazing what a difference 100lbs and dedication make.
