Wow, things are really moving along! met with the surgeon last Monday, Jan 28, 2013 and asked if I could go on a cancellation list as I am currently laid off and need to go back to work sometime in April. they called me last Thursday and I was able to see the SW, RN, RD, Internist and have my PATT done yesterday at HRRH! Dr. Glazer (the internist) said everything looked good and I wouldn't need any additional tests (they did an EKG). Now just waiting for the Surgeon (Dr. Klein) to call with his second appointment where I sign consent and purchase optifast.  I was really nervous as I'm not a spring chicken (turning 56 on Feb 20) but I guess I'm in pretty good shape except for the newly diagnosed diabetes and a BMI of 46. Still scared though....thanks for listening!

HRRH Referral: August 2, 2012, Information Session: Jan 10, 2013, Surgeon: Jan 28, 2013, SW, RN, RD, Internist and PATT Feb 26, 2013, Surgery: March 12, 2013.

awesome stuff!  As one non spring chicken to another, my only regret is not doing it decades earlier!  Enjoy your ride!

I agree with Ian. Wish I had done it years ago (also not a spring chicken). If you are fairly healthy you should sail through.

Good luck

Pat I am 57, just had my surgery. I had a BMI of 55 and diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, etc etc etc . I sailed through the surgery and you will too. Good Luck.
