OT - venting...
Can anyone explain to me why York School Board is insisting to keep the schools open??? Managed to walk one block with my daughter and then made an executive decision that we are going back home. We are pretty new here so I am not comfortable to drive in heavy snow conditions and the sidewalks are impossible for a 5 y/o... just venting... have a good Friday!!!

I had a "bad" mommy moment and let my 10 and 6 year old walk to school. (The 6 year old was desperate to get to school for the 100th day). I was trying to shovel (pointless!). I should of walked them, we are only 5 mins away but as they turned the corner and I couldn't see them anymore I started to feel guilty.
All those darn Mommy "what if's" .. good thing I told them if the crossing guard wasn't there to come home.
Hopefully they aren't frozen in a snowbank somewhere.
We live in Durham :)

I would think that some parents can't keep there kids at home because they have to work and if kids can get there they can keep them occupied for the day. I think it is a glorified babysitting service.
I have heard the schools will never close the teachers and staff still have to go or the school loses goverment funding for that day. And the school can't afford that.........
