I would say no. I went to Guelph for mine and slept a lot of the way home to Wasaga Beach.

Good Luck!

When I had my scope, I was told I was not able to drive for 24 hours after the anesthetic. So therefore I was also off work too! Hope this helps.

I had a colonoscopy many years ago - 20? and I wasn't sedated, which no one can believe now.  But, I watched every inch of my bowel they saw on the TV screen.  It was pink!  I was thoroughly cleaned out.  It only hurt (not that much), when they injected gas to go around the two main corners.  It wasn't that bad without sedation, so you'll be absolutely fine with sedation.  Honest.

I guess if it's an endoscopy, that's another story.  I've never had one, but they really sedate people for those, so you'll be fine too.

I don't think with sedation that you'll be going to work though...

Holy Crap!!!! no pun intended..... I had a sigmoidoscopy years ago without sedation...though I was going to die!! Would have rather had a baby then go through that again...

Well, I did groan when they inflated my bowel to go around the corners, and I grabbed the bed rails tightly.  They said, "Hang on, dear", but it wasn't unbearable though.  I hated the bowel prep a lot.  I guess everyone does.
