OH EM GEE!

Today was the hardest day of my life!

i clearly need to bring opti to work to have dinner shakes....but man o man....i told a co worker that i was so hungry they looked tasty!  Not to mention for some reason every person felt the need to eat at their desks....mcdonalds, our cafe food, and everything in between, while i drank water and ate a mint. LOL

I truly hop this gets easier...How do you deal with the need to chew/eat?

One minute i am ok the next i am ravished and would kill to eat anything!!!

below is my menu for today...

830 - Vanilla opti with coffee
1000 - Black coffee with splenda
1030 - Mint
1100 - Sf orange Jello
1100 - 591mL water
1230 - few sips of diet coke and a gum
100 - Chocolate Opti
100 - 1 cup turkey broth
230 - mint
300 - 591mL water
400 - black coffee with spenda
430 - gum
530 - 591mL water
800 - vanilla opti with coconut/pineapple flavor enhancer
800 - 1 cup turkey broth
930 - 1 Del monte NSA popsicle

thanks for reading/commenting....

signed a slightly kranky glen :)

Sounds perfectly normal! I started Opti during finals week at school, so I had to see smell everyone eating stuff from the student lounge... pizza, sandwiches, Timmies, etc... Just keep in mind the first few days are the worst, but you get used to it and the crankiness goes away.

I chewed ice a lot while on opti, I found that helped with the need to chew and helped with that needed crunch. Through HRRH we were allowed two cups of green veggies a day, so that helped a lot to.

Don't stress it does get easier, the first 3 days were the hardest for me but the rest of my 3 weeks on opti went by fast and after surgery I found I missed it.

Good luck, stay strong... You can do it.

As everyone else said, it does get easier. Although I can't imagine how hard it would have been to be around all that eating/food.

The first 4 days are the hardest and after that it seems to get easier. Hang in there but I notice you missed your dinner shake make sure you have all 4 shakes a day plus your broth and jello. I chewed gum all the time plus drink water all the time it will help to fill you up.

The first 3 to 4 days are the hardest.  Btw, you may want to check the calories and carbs on those popsicles as usually the Del Monte ones are no sugar added but are made with real fruit and have 12 or more grams of sugar.  If those are the ones, they may keep you out of ketosis and should not be eating those or the agony will continue.

Okay those aren't the same Del Monte ones then that I had seen elsewhere as they were quite high in sugar.

Im on day 9 of OPTI, and YES the first 4 days I thought I was going to die. Everything from Massive HEADACHE for days, the shakes, etc. OH and wanting to even LICK a dam piece of food. Oh ya!! But now all is ok. For the chewing crunch on ICE Cubes. Im through HRRH and we cant have all those things you mentioned at all. this may sound rude but its my opti talking. I wish i could suck a popsicle that you are allowed to have right now... WOW , see the urges come in spirts now..

Chin up you can do this

Susie
