So I got home from HRRH yesterday after having my RNY on Tuesday. Everything went well and I'm feeling pretty good, however....every time I eat or drink anything at all I get pains on the left side of my stomach from top to bottom, kinda like gas cramps. They don't last long, maybe 5 minutes but is this normal?

Did you get these in the hospital? You might want to call them. You can never be too safe.

No, they didn't really start until today. Should I call the surgeons office or telehealth? I don't want to over react because it only lasts for a few minutes.....aside from that I feel really good.

I'd try the surgeon's office first.

Sometimes the best support you can get isn't all purple puddles and pink rainbows.

Figures, I called just now (it's 2pm) and they're closed for the weekend, reopening on Monday LOL! I guess I'll call telehealth and ask them!

I believe the left side is where most of the qwork was done. rest for a day and see if it improves. OItherwise if it gets worse go to the emerg where you had the surgery.

Yes and they also told me I had a lot of scar tissue on the left side from a hysterectomy I had in the 80's. Who knew!
