I found out that I have a baker's cyst in my left knee and it is really limiting me to the kinds of exercise I can do, how much and how often and it's really frustrating since I was going to the gym 6 days a week and now I can't even walk 2.5km without a lot of pain and swelling. For those of you who have bad knees could you give me some guidance and advice on exercises I could do because I don't want to give up being active and fit.

My doctor suggested waterfit or aquafit. Hope this helps.

A recumbant bike was recommended to me b/c of my knee problems - much less stress on the knee involved than regular bike and other exercises. So use it at the gym OR buy one for home. Walmart and Canadian Tire often have good sales.

Cheers,

Andrea

Lane swimming in a pool is fantastic full body work out!

I'm sorry your dealing with that...did they say if it would resolve itself?

He said it is most likely caused by an injury and it should fix it's self in a few weeks but if it doesn't he would send me to have an MRI done to have a closer look. I am just hoping it is a simple injury and I didn't tear something in my knee or have arthritis.

Both my knees are ruined, hope to have them both replaced when " I'm old enough"

I swim, be careful with aquafit. Some of the movements can stain ligaments if you have bad knees. So start with low intense aquafit. Test it out.

The bike is good too.. But once again. All depends how bad your knees are.

Go to physio, and also go to grocery store and buy some frozen peas or corn bags.. Amazing ice packs, can mold around the joints.

Feel better.. I wouldn't wish my knee problems on my worst enemy
