Holy Trepidation, Batman!
I'm a guzzler of all things liquid, and the thought of teeny tiny sips is terrifying to me. I'm ALWAYS thirsty. It's funny, I can wrap my head around the food issue...small amounts, spaced throughout the day, but this liquid thing...OY VAY! It's to the point where I'm seriously considering making 3/5-6 meals a day a protein shake, just so I can keep drinking.
Post surgery peeps who were/are like me....do you find this to be a problem? Or is this one of those things that "goes away" after surgery?
Hi there. Sipping will be a way of life after surgery and it does get easier. I used to guzzle too but nope not anymore cause it does hurt going down. After surgery they always say to try to get your protein in with food more than the liquid if possible. It stays with you longer since the liquids just pass through. There is plenty of time in a day to get your liquids in. And remember to chew chew and sip sip cause you will know it if you do not.
