I just have to post this here because no one else in my life understands the level of excitement at getting in on a canceled appointment slot :D Originally my first appointments were both October 1 at TWH, nurse practitioner and social worker on the same day. I just got a spot on July 3rd with the nurse practitioner! WOOHOO!! I'm so so so excited to have been able to bump my first appointment up by a few months! Now of course no guarantees that I won't still have to wait until October for the social worker but at least this is a start, and I won't feel so stuck in limbo. I've already started keeping a food journal and have bought a few of the recommended books to start in on over the long weekend, but the appointment makes this all feel more real. I'm so so so happy!!! Yayyy!! Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to call for cancelations, and your advice on what to do while waiting :)

Way to go with the pestering. Time will seem to fly by no matter what the time is between appointments.

That is fantastic news!

I found that when I went in for my first appointment I spoke with the person at the reception desk and he was very helpful in moving around the rest of my appointments (to take cancelations) so that things moved much faster.
