getting closer to a date

Thrilled to say I have appt's with the nurse, dietician, and social worker next week. I am very excited and a tad nervous thinking about how real this is becoming.

I also feel like I am mourning the loss of food, did anyone else feel this way even before surgery?

Guess I'll be sharing opti-fast stories soon, yikes!

I think everyone mourns the loss of food in one way or another - you're only human. :)

I have all my appointments done and just waiting for a surgery date (that won't be till nov/dec at the earliest) and every weekend I find myself in that food mourning - durring the week I am really good, eating carefully, mindfully - making homemade soups and nutritious foods - but the weekend I find myself binging at night.  I have read that most people go through the food mourning but I hope it doesn't last long - I have noticed I have stopped liking the food I am binging on because it reminds me of what I have become... but binge on it anyways... lol  Good thing my surgery date is far away I obviously have eating issues!

Yayyyyy!  I gotta tell ya, i totally mourned food! I keep looking at the bag of cheetos for my son and tears spring to my eyes. But i keep telling myself i've had 30+ years to eat it, it's time to try something new! *hugs*
