Congrats! You're starting the process!

Don't worry about the questionnaire, they'll give you a folder full of stuff when you get to orientation. There's all kinds of forms to fill out and a really long psychological evaluation that needs to be done for your first appointment, as well as a copy of the Power Point presentation you'll go through at orientation. You'll get your first two appointments at orientation and go from there! :)

Hey Katie, do you think I should go through with "dropping in" to tomorrow's Orientation, when I'm not scheduled until October 16th? I didn't realize there would be more to it (like getting dates, etc) and now I'm worried that they will be irritated with me just showing up. I just feel like there is a good chance people will be no-shows, and I'm only working 10 mins away right now!

Sure, you could try - all they'd have to do is get your appointments scheduled before the end of orientation which wouldn't be hard. Or they could call you with them the next day. Never hurts to try, the worst that can happen is they say no :) I'd just go up to the 4th floor and say you know that you're not scheduled but you work really close and just wanted to see if, on the off chance, someone didn't show up and you could squeeze in. You can say that you know it's not the usual way of doing things but figured you'd try and see. Hard to say whether they'd be irritated or not - think it depends who you get at the desk. But if they are then you can just say sorry and wait until the 16th. But I know when I was there for my social work appointment they told me to wait to see if there was a no-show to the nutrition class and then I could squeeze in. Turned out everyone showed up, but if they were willing to do that then maybe orientation would be the same thing?

Thanks so much Katie! You are the best :) You're right, I'll give it a go! If it shaves a month off the process, it's worth it. I'll make sure to be sweet and ultra thankful for their patience. Haha!

I'm so happy that you have an appt with your surgeon! I can't wait. I have this dream that I can squeeze in all my appts and get on the bench before the end of January. Wishful thinking? Maybe, but it doesn't hurt!

You will get everything at Orientation. Everything that Katie said lol :)

Also, when you get your first two appointments and they are FAR away go upstairs on the East elevators to 4th floor and ask for a better date. I got mine changed on the same day of Orientation to 1 day later
