Anyone here from Toronto?!
I've got a couple questions for all of you! :))

My main question is how long did you wait from the time of your first patient info session to your surgery date? 

I am going for my patient info session on monday and am having gastric bypass roux en y which will be covered under ohip

I am from Toronto, and to be honest, it all depends. I started with my orientation in march and had it not been for getting lucky and getting cancellations at the right time, I would still be doing my appointments. (my psych was originally scheduled for Nov 29) 

They do say that the average is about a year, some are shorter, some are longer. One suggestion I have is make sure your medical, blood work, thyroid if you have it, sleep study are as up to date, saves from having more appointments. The nurse practitioner will need this info and if it is not up to date, they will need it and, that means abother appointment. I had my full physical in May and a sleep study in early June and that was up to date enough for them at the end if July.

My dates are in my signature line but I will say this. It will vary from centre to centre and person to person.

7 months from my Orientation in April to my surgery in October. I was through Humber River Hospital though and I think times vary slightly depending on what center/hospital you go through =)

I am also going to HRRH for my surgery! I was referred in august and already have my orientation session on monday soo thats only like 2 1/2 months... 

I'm just very impatient to get my surgery! 

I noticed you had surgery about a month ago.. how is everything going with you so far?

I am from Toronto area and have my surgery tomorrow. If you see my timeline I went through pretty quick. And thats with even switching doctors part way through. Humber seems to have patients depending on health issues go through fast.

oh wow! did you ever get lucky with a cancellation!! Do they have a cancellation list you can go on if you request to?
