Protein powder?

Hello All I am interested in what protein powder you are using and how long it lasts you for? I am getting samples this weekend of Sun Warrior vegan protein powders and also wondered if anyone has heard of them before? They have natural, vanilla and chocolate flavours

I know of someone who works there and I could possibly get a good deal. With me being broke (house poor, mortgage, bills, and single) I am trying to do as much research now so I will be prepared when it's my time :)

Thanks Tina

The dietitian at our center recommended AllMax Whey Protein Isoflex (I love the peanut butter and chocolate) and we also cleared the Bio-X brand (it's Canadian) with the centre. Currently I have the orange creamsicle and the cookies 'n' cream flavours of the Bio-X.

We get our protein powders from Popeye's (again, Canadian, and much nicer folks than GNC). Popeye's will usually let you have a sample of something to try at home if you're not sure about it. We don't take advantage of them though; we only request 2-3 samples at a time.

When I spend the money for the big tubs of powders (about 5 lbs), and using only 1 scoop per day (35 grams), one tub can last me for about 2 months. I usually have a couple of flavours going at the same time, so with the three tubs I've got right now, I think I bought my last tub in May sometime? I'm almost ready to buy another... maybe strawberry banana this time around.

If you subscribe to Popeye's newsletters, or check their website frequently, they often have coupons to use, and they do give you Popeye's bucks. So we take advantage of those as well.

This is my own experience. Everyone is different, I'm sure. And obviously if you use more than 1 scoop per day, it'll deplete faster. My shakes are my breakfast; that's the best way to ensure I get my protein in every day. Without them, I fall a bit short. So this way I get what I need and in a convenient 'to go' cup for the car during my morning commute!

I hope you find what you're looking for.

Thank you Jillian for your well thought out response. I do have a Popeye's right across the street from me. Thanks for all the info. Very much appreciated.

Cheers Tina

Hi,

I sometimes buy the IsoFemme at Shoppers, but my favourite is Unjury.  The unflavoured is great to put in just about anything, but the chocolate splendor and vanilla are good too.  I didn't like the strawberry.  The soup tasted nice, but it was too salty for me (could probably just cut it with more water).
