Gastric Sleeve

Hi, I'm new to this whole thing (orientation is next Wednesday). I'm sure I'll find out next week, but I'm starting to do some research. Can anyone tell me if the sleeve surgery is covered by OHIP, or is it just gastric bypass?

Yes it is covered- but the first choice surgery is RnY.  If you search on the Ontario Bariatric network site it will explain the cir****tances under which the surgeon determins when the VSG will be done for a patient.

I had the sleeve 31/2 years ago.  I was able to discuss my choice with Dr. Hong, my surgeon in Hamilton, who I knew does the sleeve.  I had various reason to support my choice and Hong agreed.  No regrets.
