Ulcers and rny diet...
Hey guys. I spent a couple days in twh and was diagnosed with an ulcer. My question is for those of you who had or have an ulcer what does your diet consist of now. Do you eat to not irritate it more? Do you avoid certain foods? Do you eat certain ones? Im still feeling kinda offish but MUCH better than when i went to emerg so i know im on the mend. Im just curious to see how much more of a lifestyle change others made

my wife who is 5 yrs post op - has just been diagnosed with a ulceratic colitis . dr recommended that she remove all nuts and grains , raw veggies - she eats them now but steamed and remove dairy as well but most important to food journal and foods that trigger are to be removed
Surgery Date - AUGUST 22, 2011 - Ran first 5KM Race - Oct 14, 2012 (28 min) - Currently maintaining a healthy 190 lbs and training for my first half marathon in the summer of 2013
URGH! there goes my WHOLE diet!!! i dont eat meat fish or eggs so im VERY dependent on things like cottage cheese and SKYR yogurts :( im waiting to see how things go... still not feeling 100% so im very dependent on shakes right now (premier)

an ulcerative colities is much different than a gastric ulcer...very different...not sure if there is a need to eliminate any foods, you just need to watch and see if you have any food triggers
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.

Im on meds. Will have another scope in three months to see what happened. I have NO idea what to do lol

Yes, it is a result of RNY.. i saw the surgeon and the nurse yesterday and i am part of the 2% that have been DIAGNOSED with it.. they said they feel its more, but they put patients on meds without a scope and things usually resolve. After surgery your stomach can produce a lot of stomach acid which mine produces more than normal and this is what caused it.
Today i am feeling MUCH better than i have been!!

I was diagnosed with an gastric ulcer 6 years after RNY...I take Pantoprazole every day and don't eat spicy foods...I also limit my coffee to 1/day usually decaf if I can.
