When did you first eat steak after surgery? My surgery was on september 1, and I have successfully eaten chicken and pork but only ground beef. I'm dying to try it and I'm thinking im ready for a tender filet done medium rare.

any advice?

Hey girl,

Steak was my first "solid". Lol

I haven't had any issues with my pouch though, so I tend to push my luck. There's no food (texture wise) I won't eat. (I still haven't had bread or pasta or rice, etc, but not cause of pouch issues).

I say go for it! It's filling, delicious. Take small bites and enjoy. :)

Ok.. butttt.. If she?s never had steak before wouldn?t it be smarter to have a tender softer beef now and see if she reacts to it or not -just saying...;)

I see what you mean. Good thought! But because she knows she wants a filet medium rare, I know she's had steak before, just not since surgery. And she's had beef since surgery. It's also really not that different from pork or chicken... a medium rare filet should be quite tender and easy to eat. :)

You're funny. BBQ meat isn't dry when cooked properly.

I had no problem with steak and probably had it around the time that you are at now. Good luck!
