Question about intake for the first 8 weeks

Hi, I have a question. In the beginning your stomach will be very small but you still will need 2L of water, protein, and vitamins each day. I was wondering how much water or food can you intake at a time and how long inbetween plus how and when to fit in vitamin size as well?

Thanks

Thank you, that is the only thing I am nervous about, at least for the first 8 weeks

Hi Tmac,

It's a great question and you're right... your stomach will be tiny at first, it will be really hard, if not impossible to reach your goals. For the first week, your main focus is staying hydrated. Dehydration is a major no no. You number one job is taking little sips of water or other clear calorie free liquid all day, whenever you're awake. I say job, cause it's a job! Your number two job is protein. I would have Premier Protein shakes... but it would literally take me two hours to drink half of one that first week, so I was lucky if I could have one in a day. I would also have a bit of soup, and a bit of yogurt sometime.

Mit all gets better with time. You will find the balance between listening to your body, and getting in what your body needs. Once you have surgery, you will likely post "is this normal" questions like most of us do. All good. That's what we're here for. I sure did! We all support each other!!

The hospital will tell you when they discharge you when to start your vitamins (at least TWH did). For me, I think it was the next day. I did chewables, of course, but my best advice is chew off small bites at a time. Taking the whole vitamin at once was too big a bite for my tiny pouch!!

You got this! :)

I know the newbies check the trackers and the signatures so although I kind of lost track of how the rest of the weight came off, you should know that it was not fast and furious but it was slow and steady!

current BMI 24.7 that, my friends, is NORMAL!!! Strong is the new pretty!
