Anyone have Dr.Andvari with VSG?

Apparently it is his signature stitching which is why it hurts so much after surgery. Anyone else have him and know how long roughly it takes to stop? I am 9 days post-op and no pain needs seem to help.

I would say that 9 days post op and that much pain is unusual. I have never heard of signature stitching... did you get that from a medical source or off the internet?

I am one who errs on the side of caution... I would at least call my nurse hotline, if not seek medical attention. No one should be in as much pain as you're describing. Good luck.

When is your next clinic appointment? I would have someone look at your incisions. If the are that painful some pain meds may be in order.

Yes, I've heard lots about the infamous "Anvari stitch". From what I've been told, he stitches up extra tight on one side and it can be quite tight and painful for some. Someone told me that it could last several weeks and then you feel a "pop" and it lets go and you have relief. I'm still pre-op and don't know first hand, but it has come up time and again in discussions with other friends who have had surgery out of Hamilton. Of course, always best to follow up with the clinic and make sure that this is what your pain is actually from. Hope you're feeling better soon!

I saw Kim the RN last Friday. She confirmed it is his stitching that I am feeling. It is very painful and nothing has been helping so far

Hang in there. I wonder what the benefit of stitching that way would be?

Is the normal? Normally I am ok but today I have less of an appetite and I kept burping and tasting what I last ate?
