Why no belly button? Even after losing 200 pounds my surgeon was able to save mine. Most are able to be saved if the surgeon is good. I would talk to another surgeon before deciding to go with this one.

There was a woman here years ago who had no belly button. I will try to remember her name.

Thanks for your reply. He said it's because if he saves my belly button then it'll be all the way down by my pubic area. So I don't think I would want that but your rite.. maybe I should see what other doctors might say too.

My surgeon made me a new belly button, and it's cute.

Technically for a panni they do not have to do anything for the bellybutton. They are just removing the excess skin. But I think most surgeons now at least move it to the right place even for a panni. I would definitely get a second opinion.

Ditto on a second opinion. I've seen some after photos of insurance-covered panni removals that were definitely able to keep or move the belly button. I know it may seem daunting since you've already received an approval and this means potentially restarting the process, but I think it's at least worth a second opinion.

And then ultimately, you would have to decide if this is a deal-breaker for you.

My surgeon made me a new belly button and it is way cuter than my old one. Sounds odd to me that your surgeon wouldn't do the same.
