I had my surgery November 15, 2005 and have PCOS. I was wondering if you were on any medication post-op and if so, what dosage. My GP put me back on 500 mg of glucophage once per day at 3 months post-op and it is helping somewhat, but I wonedring if I may need more. Thanks in advance! **hugs** Janet 300/270/215/150

I stopped taking Metformin the day before surgery and haven't needed to go back to it. I suggest getting some labwork and then adjusting if needed. Good luck! Kristy EDD 8/6/06 26w5d It's a girl - Alice Kay

I take 500mg of metformin twice a day for my PCOS, my endocrinologist put me back on it post-op(surgeon kept saying I didn't need it anymore) . I was taking 1000mg twice a day pre-op. The decision to go back on it post-op was made d/t insulin levels remaining high and weight loss was pretty slow compared to others. Rachel
