Recommendation for a Ob/Gyn who works with WLS patients in Texas?

Hi ladies,

I'm cross posting this on the Texas board but thought who better to ask about Ob/Gyns than you all!

I had the VSG in June, previous history of PCOS with regular periods. Every month since surgery I've had 2 periods- one starting on day 11 and then during the placebo week of my pills.This last month my period was unbearable, like never before. I *think* it's weight loss related but I don't know maybe something really is wrong?! My gyn did an ultrasound and said I have fibroids. After 3 months of trying to schedule the hysteroultrasound they are trying to reschedule me again. I'm just so frustrated!

We want to start TTC in about a year. My surgeon thinks this bleeding is going on too long to be surgery related. The gyn won't give me a straight answer and I'm just thinking I need someone who has more experience with WLS patients.

So all that to say- Is there anyone that you all would recommend in the College Station/Houston area who has some experience with WLS patients??

Also, any one else have similar issues??

I live in the Humble area anf both my sister and I have had weight loss surgery and I am curently 34 weeks pregnant and she has a 18 month old we use the same practice and they have several patients while we have not had the same problems both of us have had some problems. I have been seeing my doc since I was 18 Her name is Julie Bernell and I know if she can not help you she has specialist at texas womens. If you need any other info just let me know I hope you find what your looking for.

I can't recommend anyone specific, but if you're close to Houston the best bet would probably be to check with OB/GYN practices in the medical center. Methodist hospital has a bariatric program and an OB/GYN program, so you would stand a good chance of finding someone there who has experience.
