Southwest Turkey Burgers

Total Time: 20 minutes

Yield: 6 burgers

Serving Size: 1 burger

 

Gather

1 pound 93/7 ground turkey 1 egg 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs 1/2 lime, juice and zest 1 medium onion, grated (make sure to get all the onion juice too!) 1/2 Tbs cumin 1/2 Tbs garlic powlder 1 tsp chipotle chili powder  

Step by step

  1. Heat a grill pan, gas grill or countertop grill to medium high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Use your clean hands to mix, but don't overwork.
  3. Lay out a sheet of plastic wrap or waxed paper.
  4. Form the turkey mixture into 6 patties.
  5. Grill until burgers reach an internal temperature of 160F.
  6. Serve on a your bun of choice - or bunless. Top with avocado, tomato, greens and a dollop of chipotle lime mayo (light mayo mixed with a squeeze of lime juice and a sprinkle of chipotle powder).
