Dr. K's patients..Which hospital?

Did you got to Verdugo Hills, or Huntington Hospital?

How are you doing anyway?

I'm doing ok. I had to go thru some insurance hoops, because Dr. K is outside of my HMO network. I had to go thru the process of being denied, going thru a network surgeon, and then being allowed a consult, because there were no in network surgeons that perform DS, especially revision to DS! So after I saw him, I had to wait again for approval for the surgery..lol! I got that approval last week, so then I had to wait for Blue Cross to say how much they were willing to pay the surgeon, we got that completed on Monday, so now Dr. K's billing department has to approve the amount, then I can get a date! 

The next hurdle..and this can get tricky, is financing the $4000..so hopefully it will all be worked out by next week, I'm hoping for a July date!

Hi, I'm Sharyl and a Dr. K patient too, had my RNY to DS revision December 15, 2011. I went to Verdugo Hills. I was lucky in that its only 15 minutes from where I live here in Los Angeles. Also, don't be shy about talking to Dr. K's office about the fee/financing, seeing what if any options, workable solutions there are, one of many reasons to love Dr. K, he's a brilliant, compassionate surgeon and they will do a lot to help make this happen. 

For some reason, my posts aren't posting correctly..lol! What I was trying to say was, thank you so much! My surgery will be at Huntington. I'm curious what it's like there. I will email you as we'll! 

Hi there, you're welcome, and yes, definitely email me! I don't know as much about Huntington specifically, it's the newest location added by Dr. K. But I can tell you that whatever the hospital, you are in THE best doctor care around, Dr. K is the best, and you can tell him Sharyl said so :) Look forward to hearing from you.
