I had a VSG in 2009 and was only able to work it down 45# from then until now, I have diabetes and PCOS so I am thinking I need a malabsorb component, but from some info I am reading this revision surgery doesnt net a greater weight loss.  It is also much more difficult in terms of re-doing and re-routing ugh

You can go from the sleeve only to DS.  The VSG is actually the first stage of the DS.  They would do the VSG only in some high risk patients to get them down to a safer weight.  What they found was  some did so well with the first stage that they didn't need the DS malabsorbtion.  If you now had the VSG the next logical surgery would be the "2nd" stage, DS re-rout.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
