Recovery Period

Thinking of having a revision from lap band to gastric bypass, I'll meet with doctor in February to discuss options and surgery. Can anyone who has had this done please tell me how long was the recovery. I'm curious about how many days I'll have to miss work if I'm approved for surgery. Thanks!

I had my revision from vertical sleeve to gastric bypass on 12/30/15. I guess I heal much slower now but I was feeling more like myself after 10 days.

I am a band to sleeve to RNY with hernia repair patient. I am currently 3 weeks out from surgery and I still should not be returning to work as I have horrible pain from time to time and haven't been able to keep much food down.  Other surgeries I was good as new quickly I never touched any of the pain prescriptions.

It all depends on the individual and how complicated your surgery is in regards to scarring and such.
