I hope this is not a dumb question but I have to be on a sugar free clear liquid diet for two days pre-op and am a little confued about Jell-o during this phase.  Is it gelatin in the liquid form (before it is refrigerated) that we can have or can you actually make it into Jell-o.  To me Jell-o is not liquid but I am not sure if it is considered liquid for this diet.  Also other than Jell-o, broth, and SF popsicles...any other recommendations for liquids during this phase?

You can actually make it into jell-o. And yes broth and SF Popsicles are recommend during the liquid stage.

Good luck!

Eat the Jell-O after it has solidified. Jell-O has such a low "melting" point that when you eat it it becomes liquid before it hits your stomach. It "melts" at body temperature easily. Brothe, jell-o, s/f popsicles, crystal light, apple juice, these were all allowed on my clear liquid diet. Good luck, it goes fast.

Includes 25 lbs. pre-op loss.

Jell-o is the name brand.  Gelatin is the product.

From a medical stand point, gelatin is considered a liquid.  Anything that is a liquid AT ROOM TEMPERATURE is considered a liquid.

Decaf coffee and tea WITHOUT any creamer, dairy or non-dairy
Watered down juices
Crystal Light or other sugar-free beverages
