weight loss after 1.5 year post op?????

I'm curious where I can read more about the "adaptation" our body makes regarding malabsorption. It doesn't seem like there is any conflict on whether malabsorption of vitamins/minerals is permanent -- but I haven't found anything scientific that relates to the diminishing effect of fat/calorie malabsorption. Can someone send me in the direction of these studies?

Here are a couple.  The same action occurs for any type opf intestinal bypass (in WLS patients, in cancer patients who have had partial bowel resections, and even in those who have "short bowel syndrome" after having severe intestinal loss).
