Butt aflame - TMI
While I know it's not because my surgeon is sadistic, I still hate this bowel prep! I was doing my blog earlier and made reference to that Dave Chappelle skit where he is propelled off his toilet.... And I was kinda re-creating that moment earlier.....
Anyway, the point in this thread is to pass on some wisdom - learn from my pain!!
If you have to do bowel prep - Milk of Mag or whatever -
1. Buy really nice TP. I usually buy green TP like 7th Generation but had to get Cottonelle. I'll save trees another day when it's not at the expense of my anus.
2. For the bum-burn, I've used Calmoseptine, which is an over-the-counter paste antiseptic especially for the perianal area and feels like you're putting a wintergreen mint up your butt. It's an antiseptic so I think this helps with my overall reducing infections risk...
3. To protect your butt cheeks, I've used Boudreaux's Natural Butt Paste. Seriously. I'm not a mom, but those with babies will have seen it on the diaper aisle. It doesn't have any odor and wipes cleaner than some of the other diaper rash creams.
I know this is probably way more info than anyone wanted, but for those in need....

Betcha at least had a toilet that flushed when you did your prep though, right? I had the serious misfortune of having an ice storm and power outage on the day before my surgery. We live in a rural area, so we have a pump and a well for our water (which won't work when there's no power!) Fortunately, our neighbor across the road had power, so my DDDH went over there to get buckets of water so we could "manually" flush the toilet. That's a bowel prep I won't forget!
OMG that's horrible! I stopped griping....It's good to be grateful....
