protein bars

If I eat a store bought one I prefer the Pure protein ones too, but I don't tolerate sugar alcohols very well, so I'm staving off them. Found a recipe, from Pam's blog, for protein bars that look really great. Plan to make them, have everything.

Supreme Protein is my top of the list.
Pure Protein,
EAS Myoplex bars,
Pure Protein (choclate brownie, and Revolution only)
once in a great while an Atkins.

I am careful that I don't use my bars as a substitute for sweets but rather as a true supplement or Post workout Protein source. I too am very careful in my calorie to potein ratio and rarely will I do a base over 200 calories

Becareful of the type of protein you are getting in your bars.

Youcan email most of the companies and ask for a sample I know Supreme will send like up to 4 or 5 bars now (typically one of each flavor). I filled the info out for the sample of quest bars and never got a response or samples.

I think the name of my fave is Carb Supreme. I have ordered them on line but just found them at GNC. Bright golden wrapper, 15-19 grams protein, 1-2 sugars. Taste like snickers and butterfingers. I only use as meal replacement, not a snack, but I never crave any other sweets these are sweet enough. Jenny T
