Hey everyone! So i stepped on the scale today, something i normally only do at dr appts. I have lost 100 lbs total since the start of my journey in dec. Im soooo happy about that and dont think i have been this weight in like ten years....but im confused about clothing sizes. I still wear the same bras i had before surgery, and have only gone from a size 28 to a size 22...how does that work? I have a size 20 pair of shorts sumone gave me that dont even come up past my thighs i only have 80 lbs till goal does this mean that even when i get there ill still be in plus size clothing? I know its not about sizes its about being healthy but it still kinda frusterates me!

I wore the same bra until I got to the -75 mark. Since then, I've dropped 2 cups and 4 inches. Was a 42-44 Now I'm a 36 - 38. Also, I wore my size 26 until I was around 210. Since then (I'm 172 now) I'm down to a 14/16. It really depends on your body build. I am narrow up top and I have bigger hips and thighs. My body has morphed in different segments, at different times. It's all normal I suppose. My other friends have told me once you hit size 16/18 the close sizes change dramatically for every 10-15lbs you lose.

Are you sure you wear the same bra size? Have you been fitted for one recently?

Clothing is a weird thing. I wear a size 10 jeans but am still obese. How weird is that?

Maybe try different brands of clothing? Everything in every size will fit different and try not to let it bother you.

Congrats on the 100 lbs weight loss- That's awesome!

I wore the same stuff for what seemed like months.  Sizes change more when you are closer to goal.  You will see it happened soon, I'm sure.  It does seem odd however.

I am a "lightweight" and I started out in a size 24 (I have large hips) with 90 pounds to lose.   When I got down to a 18, the sizes started dropping fast.  I went down three sizes in 4 weeks at one point.  I was stuck in a 12 for a few weeks but this last weekend decided to try out a 10 and it fit when I was sure it wasn't going to, so you will be surprised at how fast it happens.

My general practioner and my bariatric doctor both talked to me about the boob issues.  I am a 54C.  They both agree that usually (not always) the breasts are one of the last areas to adjust.  I can just see me in a size 18 jeans (wear 26 now) and still a 54C.  ACK!!  Oh, well.  Everything in its time.

Also...way to go on the 100 lbs lost!!!!!  I can't wait for that day!!

At 250 lbs I wore size 22 and bra size 44 circumference. That's pretty much what size you wear and weigh now. At 217 lbs I wear size 18 regular and 42 bra circumference. Soon your size will start dropping fast. Good luck and congratulations on your wonderful weight loss acheivement.
