Galbladder removal during surgery

Does this mean my surgery will be open?

Maybe, maybe not. Ask your surgeon. 

I had mine out during my RNY surgery and it was still laproscopic. I just have one or two more tiny incisions.

Not necessarily.  I asked about this in my pre-op visits and was told that they can often take out the gallbladder using lap procedures. It all depends on whether the liver size cooperates.

Why does your gallbladder have to be removed? And who determined it? Did they decide this when u had your EGD done?
