Thank you! It is exciting. Day two of my liquid diet today. :) Yes, my surgeon told me that I have to go on a liquid diet for 10 days, then clear liquids 2 days before surgery. Nothing after midnight on the night before.
The liquid diet details are: 3 protein shakes a day totaling to 60g of protein a day. These have to have less than 7g of carbs and less than 7g of fat. I need to drink 72 oz of water (I've been drinking 96 oz) a day. I can also have one serving of fruit a day. I make that piece of fruit stretch. I cut my apple into slices and put the slices in three baggies to split up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Not every surgeon lets you have the fruit though. The first three days were the worst. I'm on day 4 and I finally feel normal again. I feel sooo much better. Day 1 I was sooooo hungry. My hunger has now finally evened out and I feel good. My surgery is Monday, June 20. The saturday before surgery I start clear liquids only (no protein shakes) and I have to drink a whole bottle of citrate of magnesium (talk about living on the toilet). After I drink that bottle I have to drink at least 8 oz of water every hour for 4 hours.
I hope this helps. Every surgeon does things a little differently.
