i am 5 weeks out. and i am wondering if having diet snapple is okay? i also wanted to know the deal with caffeine - is it okay to have it? i was not allowed it pre op diet. i know that caffeine can cause stomach ulcers,  maybe that's why.

Diet Snapple is on my list of approved drinks from my surgeon.

Caffeine is also a diuretic.  So mix it up with water and other non-caffeinated drinks.  I am allowed a cup of caffeinated drink a day.  I do one diet snapple and it doesn't cause me to urinate any more than normal.

I use the diet Peach Snapple, then put in a scoop of unflavored Unjury and shake it up.  It's cloudy
but you don't taste the protein, so it is a great way to get liquids AND protein!

Go for it!

Diet Snapple, water, milk and protein shakes are about the only things I drink. I love diet snapple!

Caffeine can also trigger hunger. But I drink it all the time and it does not affect me that way, thank goodness.
