lab results questions
Below are my lab results. The surgeon said everything is good but a couple of results have an @ by them meaning they are out of the norm. Ferratin is 333 and the highest norm is250; my vit D is on the lower end of norm but surgeon said it is ok.
My protein levels look good. Any input is appreciated, this is my blood work done at my 4 month visit. I did create a chart to update at further testing. This forum has been so helpful and I appreciate it a lot. Thanks

I definitely would not want my D that low. Below 80, we are at increased risk for osteoporosis along with other problems. If mine was that low, I would order the 50,000 IU D3 from vitalady.com and take one daily for a couple months, then get tested again. I would also prefer my B12 higher than that, although it's not yet low enough to cause you any problems. Are these all the labs you did? No vitamin A, thiamine, PTH, iron, zinc, copper? Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
These are the only results. The receptionist made a copy of the results for me and I think she may have copied the same page twice, I have 3 pages and one is duplicated. I will need to call her and see if she can send me a complete copy. I am currently taking 1000 mcg 3x a week. I may up that to 4 times a week for now and order D3 from Vitalady. Your doc might tell you that you are taking enough D3 right now. But if your experience is anything like that of many, many post op here on OH, it's not nearly enough. When my D was about 50, I took 50,000 IU D3 every day for a couple months. That's what it took to get my level up over 100. To maintain my level, I now take 50,000 IU three or four times a week. On the amount you are currently taking, you can expect to see your number lower next time you get labs done. Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Your b12 is way too low. you want it up around 1200-1800, Below 500 puts you at risk for nerve damage. I would atleast double your dosage if not more. If you could get an injection to boost your level quickly and then go on the double dose it would be great. Your proteins are good and so are your kidneys. Your potassium it too low. If you can get a prescription for some type of potassium that would be great if not, try eating foods that are high in potassium and make sure you get your level checked again soon because if it gets lower, it can get dangerous. Your ferritin is high can mean a few things. It is hard to judge without an iron, tibc, iron sat%. Have you had a recent iron infusion? Have you had any recent surgery? Do you have any major inflamation in your body? A high ' ferritin in the 300-500 range can be due to severe inflamation in the body. This has happened to me after several surgeries and when I had kidney stones that caused an enlarged kidney. Your D is very low - I would get some dry D3 from vitalady.com - 50,000 units and take 2-3 times per week and get retested in 2 months. You are missing alot - vitamin B1, PTH, iron, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin K copper, selenium, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, B6
