Surgery Date 10-17-11

and had my preop class today. We still haven't heard back from the insurance but I am remaining optimistic.  I have gotten some great feedback from you all.  I am really hoping to get approved for this bypass due to the band having slipped.  I have my clearances scheduled for next week and will hopefully hear something soon from the insurance.  Also did anyone feel more nervous or overwhelmed after their preop class? Seeing all the information and all the things I had to keep up on to make this work for me is a little overwhelming.  All I have been thinking is meal plans, excercise, protein, vitamins, water.   Wishing everyone luck and success!!!

 I remember feeling overwhelmed with the amount of time it was going to take me to get through the process and actually get to surgery.  After making the decision to go through with surgery, it was a little disheartening to realize it was maybe going to take another 6 months before I could start my new life.  But I just had to tell myself that another 6 months or even a year would be worth it for the possibility of 10, 20, 30, 40 years of a healthier life.  I'm 11 weeks post-op now and I would definitely say that the wait was worth it at this point.    Hang in there, learn as much as you can while you wait, and it will all be worth it.

Just had my surgery Sept 28th. We did not get approval from insurance until the Friday before - literally while I was getting my pre-op labs done.
