Home at last. Feeling pretty darned good
I got home yesterday after having my surgery on Wednesday. There was normal pain (I guess you would call that normal) but the little button became my best friend! I was so ready to get home I almost cried when Dr. Dyer (who I LOVE) would NOT agree! Oh well, one more night didn't kill me. Anyway, they took my penrose drain out and now I get to clean it twice a day! All I can say, is I am NOT a medical person, this may be the grossest thing I have ever had to do. I have cried both times I had to clean my wounds. My RN told me I had to do it or else it could get infected... I will comply ... but I will also cry and cringe every time LOL. Oh they also left the JP drain until next week when I have my 1 week. I just have to change the dressing, but that freaks me out too. I am so happy to have this behind me and be home, now to get past the wound care, if it wouldn't hurt so damned bad, I'd do a cart wheel lol:) I guess I am letting the pain meds do the typing this morning, but just wanted to say how happy I am to be home:)
