What was your goal weight?  Did you have one?  My surgeon never gave me one and I never asked.  I just picked a nice, round 100lbs to lose and set that as my goal, not knowing whether I'd feel healthy and content at that weight.  Not sure if I should have a goal based on BMI, weight, how I feel, body fat percentage, or what?!
I'm 5'10" tall and currently in a size 12.....a size that I remember being in high school....when I was in the 160s (I'm 189 today.....what has happened with SIZING??)

Welcome to Vanity Sizing!!!

I'm 5'10, and I started looking too skinny at 203#, if you ask my family!!

Eat properly, exercise, enjoy life.  When your body is comfortable, it'll quit losing.

Congratulations on your success!!

I'm 5'8 and 170. I wear a 6/8 with the occasional 10, and small or medium tops. I'm not at goal yet (164 is goal). I guess I look 'okay' now. I'm not exactly sure if I'll ever be 100% happy to be honest. Head issues I suppose!

I'm 5'9" and am 165.... I wear a size 8 jeans and mediums in tops usually.  I set my original goal at 160 and I think that's probably right for me. I reset the goal to 148 but I doubt I'll ever see that... at the size I am now I look good and not scrawny.

My suggestion would be to not get your mind set on a specific number as your goal.  You need to look at your body and how you look and feel... no need to tie yourself to some arbitrary number which you might never attain.  Aim to be healthy and look good... if you think you can stand to lose a few more pounds, then work towards that.  Once you get there, then reassess and see how you look and feel...

Good luck!

I am 5'10 and I weigh 173 today, seven months out. My "goal" weight is 168, simply because that is where my weight range is considered normal and not overweight. I would like to get a little lower than that, though - I remember being 155 in high school and wearing a size 9. For some reason 150-155 sounds good to me, so about 20 more pounds. I still have some fat around my tummy and my thighs that I think needs to go. I also know I have a good deal of muscle weight - I workout daily and have been strength training the last six months, so I am assuming that weighs more.

I'm in a size 10 jeans and skirts/dresses and a Medium top. I have a friend who is 5'10 who weighs 138 and she looks great, but she has a very lean body. I know my frame is large because of my wrist measurement. I don't think I'll get lower than 150-155.

I'm at 168 now and wear a 10/12. I will always wear l or xlarge tops because of bra size being rather large. It is strange being a different size than I was before. I used to be 190 and wear a 10/12. I set my goal weight at 165. My surgeon set it at 155. As I still have a bit of a gut, I'm sure my surgeon is correct in that being the right weight for me. He sais that I should end up wearing about an 8. I'd say he was pretty spot on for my frame and what will look good.

Im 5'8 1/2 - 5'9 or so. Doc put my goal at 164. I honestly never see that for me. I put my goal at 180. I havent been under 200 lbs since 6th grade so I dont know what it looks like.

Right now Im mid-low 220's cause it bounces around all the time...225 today. Im in a 16 bottom/XL top depending on where the tops are from. Im apple shape, big shoulders no hips.

Hello there,
I never got a "goal weight" from the surgeon either. I'm 5'9 and I picked my goal to be about 150 lbs. I would just shoot for anything in the middle of the healthy bmi range.

I'm 5'9 and never got a goal weight from my surgeon either.  My PCP suggests that I shoot to get down to around 175.  The smallest I can remember being was 200 pounds and I was in the 8the grade and wore a Jr size 15 then was was a few inches shorter than I am now.  I have family members that weight around 175 that are the same height as I am and they physically LOOK like they weight 20-30 less than that...so I'm not sure if that's because of bone density or muscle mass or what.  Right now, I'm setting my goal at 200...which will be a loss of 163 pounds.  Once I get there, I'll see what my body looks and feels like.

Also, keep in mind that while vanity sizing is present, I don't think it will account for a 30 pound weight difference between the old and new sizes...I'd give it 10-15 max.  Your weight might be distributed differently than it was back then...not to mention your bone density may have changed from the weight gain and you might have increased muscle mass...all things that will make you weight more, without increasing your physical size.
