Yes, ketchup has 4 grams of sugar per serving. A serving equals 1 tablespoon...about the size of one packet you get at a fast food restaurant with fries. Most people use a lot more than that when pouring it out of bottle so consumption is probably closer to between 8-12 gr., if not more. Also, that sugar is in the processed form of high fructose corn syrup which is "reportedly"
suspect in issues of weight gain and obesity. For me it would be a "trigger" that would cause me to eat more than I should. If I need a sauce for my meats, I will use the Thick Worchestershire sauce which actually has 6 gr of sugar per serving. But it is not a "trigger" for me and I use far less of it than I would ketchup. So it all comes down to individual preferences, tolerances, and as always just taking responsibility for our choices.
