So.. It has been just over a month since my surgery and I have been tryin to stay off the scale... I weighed myself yesterday though cause the suspense was just killing me! So anyways... I have lost 42 lbs in a month! That is incredible!
Also, I am about to be able to start on normal foods... What was everyones first thing they ate when they were able to have food with real substance?? What things should I try? Thanks guys!

My first real food was a scrambled egg since it was breakfast.  And it tasted sooooo good but it was hard to get down.  I had to take a few bites, walk, eat, walk....that egg was so cold by the time I finished it.

Congrats on the new low.

That is awesome i started with boneless skinless chicken thighs they were moist and i baked them with no coating.  I have had my surgey almost 4 month ago.  i have lost about 135 lbs but i never weighed my self only at the doctors people ask how much did you lose i just say i dont know but i feel healthy.  Just a quick warning that happens to some of us.  once we begin eating real food again weight loss slows down but dont be discuraged just go by how you feel and not the number  all the best and congrats i am proud of you and all the others that have made this choice to once again become healty

Ok My daughters birthday is on Sunday... and i am making spagetti and meatballs with salad for dinner. Do you guys think I would be ok to eat a low fat meatball with a little sauce and some ricotta? How did everyone do with salad when they were allowed to have it?

Firstly, what does your surgeon's post-op protocol say?  If it says OK to go to ground meats, then
go for it.

I began with tuna salad when I went off pureed foods;  try a meatball, slowly, and if it doesn't work for you, then give yourself some time and try it again in a week or so.

Our pouches take a little time to re-acclimate to solid foods, so don't be surprised if at first there
is a little discomfort.

Take it slow.

Best wishes

I ate a meatball and it was wonderful....I do well with salad but fresh fruit is hard for me. Keep up the good work and enjoy real food - for my first meal I had a scrambled egg with cheddar and it was wonderful - although I can still only eat 1/2 an egg....
