Has anyone used Hormel Super shake for their protein drink during the liquid pre op diet?   Do you think it is enough protein with 7 grams per one cup?   I can get it at cost.   Thanks!

my nutritionist required my shakes to have less than 3 g of both fat and sugar, and at least 17 g protein per serving. 7 g protein is the same as an oz of chicken so it will not help you much in supplementing your protein intake. I have to get (from surgeon and nut suggestions) at LEAST 35 g of protein from supplements, but with less than 300 calories.

Not sure if I was looking at the correct thing but the stats I saw online for the Hormel Super Shake was 7g protein and 25g sugar??? I'd dump on something like that.... Plus really not worth the calories for just 7g protein.

Gosh, you can get 8 grams protein in one cup of skim milk.  7 grams per cup is not worth it, no.

Thanks guys, I wasn't sure I start my pre-op liquid diet on the 11th and a freind of mine offered to order it for me at cost, sooo I guess the answer will have to be NO.  Thanks again!
