I am soon moving onto the pureed foods, and was wondering if any of you have had a hard time transitioning between phases??  I am heading out to the store to get all of the foods necessary and can't wait to eat something different!

Pureed food Ideas are welcome too if you have something that you particularly liked while on this stage!

I did not HAVE any phases.  I had clear liquid for one day, full liuids for one day, and then was allowed soft foods for dinner on Day 3.  I had no problems eating anything.  Most people don't, actually.  There is no reason that you should expect to have trouble eating your approved foods.

I have ate almost anything during the pureed / mushy stage. But I blend my food in my "ninja" food processor first. I am not allowed anything that is not "fork tender" during mushy stage.

I thought for sure I would hate doing this, I mean really who wants to eat their chicken blended. You know, it's not bad at all, You still get all of the flavor, texture is just a little different.

After hearing people getting food stuck on this site, I was more than happy to "blend".

Good Luck

I never had phases to go through and had no problems with my program.  The only food early out that was difficult for me to eat was eggs because they set so heavy.  Don't over buy anything until you see how you handle it.  Introduce one new food at a time, if it doesn't work wait a couple of weeks and try again.

I had trouble transitioning only cause I had a stubborn stricture that has required being dialated 3 times now. I have been on the soft foods for about three days now and things are going good.

can you tell me what a stricture is and what it feels like in case I have one?

Normally with a stricture, a person gradually has difficulty getting food and liquids down. For me I have always still been on full liquids when I have started having troubles. I would notice that thicker full liquids wouldn't go down and I would throw them up and then thin full liquids would give me troubles. The first two times I got to the point where I couldn't get sips of water down even.   This last time I was still getting water consistency down and thin full liquids down, but decided that it was progressing, so we felt it was better to be proactive than reactive this time around and decided to dilate.  The surgeon said I would probably need a couple more dilatations but hopefully not for a while now.

I have quite a few recipes that can be made for the family and then pureed for you.  They are in PDF format.  If you message me your e-mail I will be happy to send them to you.  I am three days away from being out of the pureed stage!
