HI! So I started purees on Monday and I absolutely love my canned chicken creation. LOL OK I know it sounds like something horrific from the grade school cafeteria (and it kind of looks like that I guess) but it tastes great. I take a small can of canned chicken in water, drain the water and dump the chicken into my little food chopper. I add a dollop of plain Greek yogurt and sprinkle on some dry ranch seasoning. I also had to put a splash of milk to loosen it up a bit. Sorry I don't have measurements but I'm sure you will get close. My pouch has tolerated it well.

No, I bought the small cans of chicken and split it into two servings. My dietitian wants us to eat a side of fruit or veg with our protein and that's the part I've been having a problem getting in. Because its always "protein first" by the time I get to the veg or fruit I'm too close to what I think is full that I really don't want to take another bite especially if its something like pureed green beans or something equally unappetizing. I probably just have to suck it up for this week, I had to "toughen up" when I first got out of the hospital because all liquids containing protein were completely grossing me out, but I knew I had to drink them and luckily my taste buds chilled out after a couple days. So I probably need to do the same with the pureed fruits and veggies and just grin and bear them and get them into my pouch before I get full. It's only purees for a couple days until I move on to soft foods.

I didn't feed baby food to my babies because it has little to no nutritional content - certainly not for a fully grown adult!!!

Puree real food - you will do so much better with good protein!
