...and, that's why waiting 30 minutes between eating and drinking is recommended...

...I really ought to decide which I'm going to do, first...can't have it both ways at once.

Crazy morning meant that when we got home, it was well past the time I should have eaten something nourishing, but because I forgot to bring my 32 oz,. water bottle, I was parched, as well...

So, not only did I ignore the 30-minute guideline, but when I did take in fluid, I didn't sip...I guzzled...another mistake....DOH!!

The end result was approximately 10 minutes of the slimies....yech....

Never too old to learn, I guess...or, in this case, re-learn...

The slimies are what passes for vomiting with WLS patients...if you've either drunk or eaten something (or, in my case combined them) that your pouch is not accepting, you still get that reflex but now what comes back up is a very heavy saliva (much like slime, hence, the name) and this will occur until the pouch has expelled all that it will not accept....kinda scary the first time, after that you know what's happening and it's not such a big deal...just not pleasant...
