Silly Question Of The Day--Hair Loss--Men Can Answer Too

I've spent the day reading and bookmarking a lot of the posts here on the forum. Since I'm one of the people REALLY concerned about hair loss after surgery I was paying a lot of attention to those posts. My question is do men suffer with hair loss after surgery as women do?? It seems like 100% of the questions about hair loss are from women. Do men just worry less about it ? Are women's hormonal and physical makeup so different that only we have hair loss? Can anyone shed light on this subject--THANKS !

It should affect both men and women equally.  But there are many more women posting on this site than there are men.  And I bet women do worry about it more than men do, too.

Yes men can suffer hair loss too. I just think you hear so many posts on this topic from women is because "good hair" was one of their best features (in their personal opinion").  Losing hair takes away this "good thing" they had going --nice hair.  I've only met one guy in multiple post op support groups who had noted major hair loss. Maybe most men don't think it's a big deal or?  Many women have long hair, or thick hair where any hair loss is noticeable pretty quickly.  Men typically have shorter hair cuts, and any hair loss is a lot less noticeable.  I know only one woman who appears to still have major hair loss at over 14 months post op.  I did not know her prior to surgery, so I'm not sure if her hair looked similar at that time.  DAVE
